The Organization Development (OD) Ministry is focused on carrying out the vision of Pastor Godbee for The River Church in developing Team River through leadership workshops and ministries’ team building activities.
The River Dance Ministry serves as part The River’s Sunday morning worship experience. Dancers assist in ushering the presence of the Lord through various forms of dance movement that is demonstrated during praise and worship service. The River dancers seek to deliver ministry to the body of Christ versus performance alone. We have an Adult dance team (ages 17and older) and a growing youth team (ages 7-16). No experience needed, just a heart to serve.
The Ushers & Greeters Ministry is an important role at The River Church, and the first to come into contact with the congregation. The mission of the Ushers & Greeters Ministry is to ensure everything is being expedited in a loving, friendly, prayerful, fitting and orderly way modeling the vision of the leadership and after Psalm 84:10 to visitors, guest of the ministry and community. Team members are asked to arrive approximately 30 to 45 minutes prior to start of service. To walk-through the sanctuary before and after to ensure it is neat and clean. To set-up the tithes and offering baskets at designated stations. Team members are to be committed and consistent to serve according to the assigned team calendar schedule. Team members are to be sharply dressed and neatly groomed. Our mission and goal towards welcoming and serving within the Ushers & Greeter Ministry is simple “Make The People Feel Welcome and Loved”.
Healing Waters Ministry was created to build awareness about the cultural and racial issues that affect the Body of Christ and to bridge connections between them so that we can celebrate the differences that make us unique.
Lifeline Definition- something which provides help or support that is needed for success or survival; a rope used for saving the life of someone (such as someone who has fallen into water)…Merriam Webster Lifeline Ministry was designed to meet the needs of God’s people that extend beyond those typically met by the pastoral care team. We offer professional counseling, support and community resources based on the immediate need of the individual or family.
The security team’s focus is to ensure protection of the Pastor and his family as well as maintain a safe and secure place of worship .
The One Day with God Camp Ministry provides an inmate parent and their child a day to reconcile with one another and participate in a full day of games, crafts, lunch, music, clowns, an illusionist, face painting, and a parent and child quiet time. It is a divinely appointed time for both child and inmate where both can experience the love of God and find forgiveness. As many as 150 volunteers are needed for everything from baking cakes, to serving food, making crafts, playing games, taking pictures and mentoring the parents, children and their caregivers. No experience is needed! There will be training for volunteers on rules and procedures for the day as well as their individual roles.
The Nursing Home Ministry is an outreach ministry, a people that have a Love and Passion for the sick,shut-in and the elderly,the forgotten Ones.
Marketing team exposes and creates awareness to people about the River church and our brand on and off-line. Marketing is an almost subliminal way for our church to make people aware of us and what we are doing for God in the earth.
RMG is made up of several components. Audio, Video, Graphic Wall Design, Lighting, and Editing. We capture the word of God and spread it across a digital platform to reach people in need of a touch from God.
This is a ministry of Helps. The goal is to supply help in the form of volunteers to agencies that supply services to the undeserved of Durham. Food Bank & Habitat 4 Humanity for now. Our presence in the community is part of Pastors vision.
To ensure that the Senior Pastor and the First Family are bathed in prayer; To ensure that The River Church is covered and immersed in prayer; To build lives, loyalty, and legacy through prayer. To remain true and committed to Luke 18:1 which states “;that men ought always to pray, and not to faint. 1Thessalonians 5:17 which states that we are to “Pray Without Ceasing.” In doing so the effectual fervent prayer of the righteous man will availeth much.
Continue to promote prayer within the life of the church to set a structure and foundation to maintain a healthy and productive prayer life for each individual; to display an attitude of gratitude and holy reverence to God; to use prayer as a means to maintain the development and spiritual growth of the church; to continuously build and maintain an open line of communication/relationship with God.
The D.R.A.M.A. Ministry focuses on Developing our Resources and Abilities to Minister through Acting. We deliver anointed presentations that support and reflect the vision, values, and creed of the River Church. Pathway to Purpose is our Sunday morning sitcom where fictional characters deal with real life issues, struggles, tragedies, and triumphs with a Kingdom solution.
The goal of connection ministry is to enhance connection with our visitors, strengthen our membership, encourage those newly saved, and connect with our community .
