Happy New Year from Pastor Godbee

Message from Pastor Godbee

Happy New Year to you and yours! We are thrilled you have chosen to join the service at The River Church. You are in the right place, at the right time, on purpose, and with a purpose. What a great way to start a new year – connecting to a community of believers that come along side you and pull your purpose that’s within you.

May your faith be ignited as we have shifted into a new year. 2016 was focusing on alignment, which was in preparation for 2017 – The Year of Refinement. One of the definitions of “refinement” is “cultured elegance of behavior or manner.” Are you ready to walk with elegance, splendor, and royalty? You’re a Child of God…a King’s Kid! So it is time to walk with the elegance of our identity.

As we forge into this new year, I encourage you to feed your faith. Do not look at the failures of the past. Behold, God is doing a new thing this year! As I have recently preached, your focus determines your feelings. Stop remembering Zion and start establishing Zion. Faith is looking forward to what is next. The enemy wants you to fixate on the failures, feeling helpless. But God instructed us to “lift our eyes unto the hills, from whence comes your help.” And we know, Zion is the HILL of Jerusalem. Lift your eyes. Lift your faith.

Praise Him for what is coming, not what has been. Judges 1:2 says, “Judah shall go up first; behold, I have given the land into his hand.” Judah means praise. When you send praise up first, the land (provision, prosperity, open doors, healing, and whatever else you need) will be given unto your hand. Be prepared for the praise-unlocked prosperity!

Beloved, this is a special season that I am grateful you are witnessing as you are visiting River Church.  Expect the unexpected blessings. Feed your faith for all God is about to do in your life in 2017 – The Year Of Refinement!

Serving into greatness,
Lead Pastor, Ronald L. Godbee
